Anti Ragging
Ragging has been defined
- As any conduct by way of words or action which teases,treats or handles freshers with rudeness.
- Rowdy or undisciplined activity which might cause annoyance, hardship or psychological harm to freshers.
- Making freshers perform something which causes shame and embarrassment in them.
What all amounts to ragging ?
- Abetment to ragging.
- Criminal conspiracy to rag.
- Public nuisance created during ragging.
- Violation of decency and morals through it.
- Injury to body, causing hurt to in any manner
- Wrong confinement.
- Use of criminal force.
- Assault or sexual/unnatural offences.
- Extortion.
- Criminal trespass.
- Offences against property.
- Criminal intimidation.
- Attempts to commit any or all of above mention offences.
- Physical or psychological humiliation.
If Caught
- Suspension from attending classes and academic privileges.
- Deprived of scholarship/fellowship and other benefits.
- Debarred from appearing in any test/examination.
- Denied results as it could be withheld.
- Expelled from hostel and admission gets cancelled.
- Debarred from representing university in any event.
- Rusticated from institute for 1 to 4 semesters.
- Expelled from institute.
- Debarred from gaining admission in other institutes.
- Imposed upon fine of Rs.25000 to Rs. 1 Lakh.
- Put to collective punishment.
